Statistics

Most people will not appreciate this entry- however those of you that know my parents well will! When my parents got here we immediately began spending our evenings playing cards- Hearts to be specific. My parents happen to be exceptionally good hearts players- which is why these statistics say a lot about how well I played this visit with my parents. On to the statistics-

Wins

Rachel- 4

Tyler- 1

Mom- 2

Dad- 3

How many times we each shot the moon-

Rachel- 4

Tyler- 2 (one was on accident- how does that happen?)

Mom- 1

Dad-2

It looks like I was the champion- However if someone else was writing this entry other details would be included-

for example: Mom would like it noted that she thinks Dad is a deciever (actually an evil deciever) when he plays cards.
Dad would include that he thinks one of my wins was a "gift from Mom"

And Tyler would say that he got dealt very bad cards until the last game- but whoever wins the last game has the final win and that is the most important.

Since I wrote this I will just leave it at this- the bottom line is I WON!!!

I will miss our games - til next time.

Not just any bump!

Garret had a little accident!

Other news;

Tyler recently got a power saw and him and my Dad did an amazing job fixing up our carport. I will have to post pictures later. We went to canal fest and Tyler took Garret on the giant slide. He loved it! Spencer is growing way to fast he weighed in on thursday at 9-3. Garret weighed 30 pounds. My babies are so big!

A Special Day

This last sunday Tyler blessed our new little baby boy Spencer. It was a beautiful blessing and a great day to be together. I am so glad my parents were able to be here for it. I can't believe that they leave tomorrow. I have loved having them here it has gone by way to fast. Here are a few pics of our new little cutie pie on his special day.

Garret and the Elephant

We took Garret and Spencer to the zoo on Thursday. We happened to be there when they were doing the elephant bath. Garret was one of the kids that got to wash the elephant. A lot of the kids were kind of timid but Garret just went right up to the elephant and scrubbed him all clean! Garret's favorite saying right now is "Wo Dude"- He said it quite a bit while washing the elephant- I guess he liked it!

A few more pics and a couple quick thanks!

Thanks to my parents for staying with Garret! Thanks to my mom for the casseroles (So I love lasagna and now I have a whole bunch in my freezer waiting for me to eat them!) and for the million other things she has helped me with this last week. - Thanks to my dad for the amazingly beautiful chair (He made that chair for me while I was at the hospital!) I love the chair and having you here. Thanks to Kristen for helping me make cute matching shirts for the boys in my family. Thanks to all the people that have visited me and sent emails and made phone calls- It makes me feel so good to be remembered and cared about. Thanks to Debbie, Alan and Trenton for the beautiful flowers. Thanks to Richard and Erica for the flowers as well! Thanks to everyone that got me the swing- I'm still working on the thank yous- we already love it. I am sure I missed someone but I really didn't mean to. We really are grateful for everything everyone has done for us- this experience would not have gone so well without all of the love and support we have gotten!

My version of the story

Because Big babies run in our family and because I have a wedding to go to in a couple weeks we decided that we would not risk having Spencer come a week late. We went in on the night of the fourth to be induced. They were going to put cervadel on and let it sit for 12 hours then induce me the morning of the fifth. However when I got to the hospital I was dilated to a two so they decided to start me on petosin. They started that at about 8 o'clock. The pain was not too bad for a while so I waited on the epidural. Tyler and I played cribbage (I won by the way). Things started to pick up as time went by. I finally asked for the epidural around 10:30 (I think- this is when it starts to get fuzzy). They called the anesthesiologist and said he would be there soon. Then things went from bad to awful really fast. Spencer had a knot in his umbilical cord so in order for him to still get air I had to stay on my left side the entire time. I kept ask for the epidural and at first they were pretty optimistic then pretty soon I see them wheel in the cart with the baby stuff and the residents put on full scrubs. You would think at this point I would have realized that I was not getting an epidural but I kept asking. Anyway it never came, my doctor didn't even make it- he left when I was a five to be there in time but didn't get there until just after I had him. It went so fast in the end and little Spencer was born at 12:07. He was healthy and so cute and little. It was amazing how fast I forgot the awful pain of pushing. But next time I am going in and saying give me the epidural now. I got quite a few stitches again but they seem to be healing pretty well. We came home from the hospital the afternoon of the 6th. We were anxious to have our family all together. It was hard being away from Garret. He loves his new brother and tries to help a lot. I am so grateful my parents were able to stay with him so Tyler could be with me. Tyler was amazing at the hospital- he was so worried he wouldn't know what to say to help me with the pain but he did so great and he is the cutest dad in the whole world. I am so glad he doesn't have to head back to dental school for another month. Hopefully that was enough details but not too many to gross anyone out!

He's Here, YEAH!!!!!!!

Well we didn't know if this would come but it did. Unlike Dick and Erica we now have more testosterone then Rachel can handle. Spencer Beck is now a new welcome part of the family. He was 8 pounds 14.5 ounces and was 21.5 inches long. He is cute and pretty much perfect, and man this boy has got some big lips...Hope everyone enjoys the pictures.
