Guess who is taking steps?

Little Miss Adele!!!  On Sunday she learned to stand up in the middle of the floor without holding onto anything.  Since then she has taken a few steps not many.  She has been cruising along the furniture for months but I think because we don't really have any furniture close together she hasn't really tried.  She does the best if she has something in both hands I think she thinks she is holding onto us then she will go three or four steps at a time.  It won't be long.

A Great Day

We woke up early this morning (really early) and went to the Prosser Hot Air Balloon Expo.  The kids were so excited to go that they jumped out of bed despite the time, threw their clothes on and ran to the car.  It was a little colder than I thought it would be but other than that it was a great way to start the day.  The sun was coming up while we were watching, the people were friendly and the expression on the kids faces were priceless!

Once the balloons were all up in the air we headed over to a friends house.  He lives right on the river.  After the balloons go up they head to the river and come down and dip into the river.  The kids enjoyed this as well and even got some of the pilots to wave to them.

Garret's favorite was the American flag balloon!

Getting up early in the morning was definitely worth it.  After the air balloons we headed to the tri-cities and went to the temple.  It is always nice when we make it to the temple.

When we were at the air balloon festival we were informed of a little apple farm.  It was on our way back so we decided to stop. I am so glad we did.  There were fun little things for the kids there.  I love  supporting the local farmers and it was so beautiful out in the country.
The highlight was making our own Apple Cider.  If you know Tyler you know he loves the stuff!  We started with empty jugs.
We (or I should say Tyler) washed up the apples.
Put them in the super duper chopper.
Wrapped the chopped apples in cloth and put it in the press.
Turned the press.
And funneled it into our jugs.
On the way home the kids were exhausted!
When we got home it felt like the day should be over but it was only 2:30 in the afternoon.  We still had an afternoon to spend together and as a special end of the day treat I got to watch the Relief Society broadcast.  It was one of those days you wish you could just slow down and soak in.  The boys were in bed by seven and they told me they were going to dream about hot air balloons!

- Is it tomorrow today?

-I willn't do that.

-I love they.

-You're the goodest.

-ten, eleven, twelve, fourteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty.

-After sneezing on a picture he brought it to me and said "I bless you'd all over this one".

Garret not only reads now but he likes writing little notes for people.  Lately I have gotten a lot of notes that say "Garret Luvs Mom".  I am not sure I'll ever be able to tell him that is not how it is spelled.  I think it is the sweetest thing.  I guess he will be already for texting (Just Kidding).

Soggy Baby

Garret- "If we ever have another baby I hope we don't have another soggy one."

Apparently Adele is a tad on the soggy side for his liking.

Granny and Grandpa Bob's House

Tyler and I had an apointment to meet with a dental broker Monday (hopefully we will figure out what we are going to do next year), the meeting was in Olympia so we decided to spend the weekend at my parent's house. Tyler worked on a secret project in the shop a lot.  I helped coach volleyball.  The kids got in a sword fight, went to the beach, played with their cousin Ridge, watched a movie and had a great time.
It was another fun weekend!

Random Happenings

Spencer decided to try on all of Adele's hair bows.  He looked pretty cute and thought it was fun looking like a "flower garden".
Adele got her own cup of smoothie.  I think it's safe to say SHE LIKED IT!
Spencer and Garret loved smoothies as well.  I told them to wash off their mustaches and I guess Spencer needed a little help!

I guess they are not allergic

My boys are officially not allergic to bees (unless there are different kinds that you can be allergic to, or if there are side effects that show up much later...).

Tyler was mowing the lawn and must of ran over a nest or the boys disturbed it playing in the dirt (I'm not sure which).  Suddenly the boys were screaming bloody murder (I really thought someone must have broken a bone or something).  They rushed into the house and kept screaming.  We took their clothes off and bees were inside of their clothes.  We pulled stingers out and calmed them down (which was no easy task).  We found nine on Garret and four on Spencer (Tyler hasn't counted yet).  They seem to be fine now.  They have never been scared of bees before, I wonder if they will be in the future.

Tyler is off "taking care" of the bees.  Hopefully we won't have any more problems with them.

I love taking pictures and someday I am going to get a nice camera and take a photography class...until then I am just a wannabe.  Here are a couple pictures I took for my sister...I think some of them turned out really good...I learned a lot from the "photo-shoot" and I think I could do a lot better next time.  I thought it was lots fun- The kids were pretty funny, they kept picking new poses to do!

It's hard to believe it is September already.  Time is really flying by.

The cousins came over to watch a movie the other day and I thought they all looked like little zombies.  I didn't watch with them because Adele was awake but I could tell they were enjoying it  because every so often I heard ALL the kids laughing together.
We took a weekend trip to my parents so we could visit and Tyler could work on secret projects in the shop.  My Grandpa gave Adele this Jack in the Box and the boys some wood alphabet blocks he made. She loves the Jack in the box and gets excited every time it pops out.
While we were visiting my grandparents, the kids got out a few of the games I remember playing as a kid.  They loved them and it brought back a lot of memories for me.
The boys turn into crazy tree climbers whenever we visit my parents.  They love trees and the woods and everything that comes with it.
Uncle Dan is always playing the boys.  It looks like he is getting a little crazy but he wasn't.  They were just having fun.  He even took them on an outing to Cabellas.
Tyler worked in the shop but won't tell me what he is making.  I picked lots of blackberries and had a great time with my parents.

On our way back we stopped by my good friend Nichole's house and she followed us back to Yakima.  Her husband is in Iraq so while he is gone her schedule is a little open.  I am glad she let me enjoy her and her boys for a few days.  We really didn't do anything exciting but we had so much fun. She is great to talk to and we talked A LOT!

We also went walking every day and on the first outing we ran over the worlds most evil plant and popped almost all of the tires on our strollers.  Getting back was interesting.  We did learn how to change them so I guess that's good.  And we got a good laugh out of it because really what are the odds that so many tires would pop on the same day when you are out with 5 kids?

The kids played dress-up, did crafts, played outside, read books, and thoroughly enjoyed each other.  It's been a great week!

So I don't forget (and so they don't either)

Yesterday I was looking out at the lawn and I asked Garret if he would mow it for me when he got older.  He said "Sure will Mom, I'd do anything for you".  (We will see about that!)

Spencer said he thought he was getting a new tooth and Garret told him he couldn't be.  Of course Spencer said "YES I AM".  Garret said "I am going to be a dentist someday so I know about these things".  (I asked him later if that was what he wanted to be now he said yes and a space ranger and a fire fighter and Dad).  Spencer said maybe he will be one too.

Spencer tells Adele every night before she goes to bed "you are my best Deli ever".

Spencer tells me every night "I love you forever and ever and ever and ever and even when you die" (I guess that is a good thing?)

Garret says "I miss Buffalo" then Spencer says "I miss Nauvoo"  ( I think that was his favorite place ever).

Most of the time if we show Adele a picture of a lion she will roar.  She will also say "wow" and "Hi" and "Bye Bye".
