Christmas Eve 2011

We spent the morning of Christmas Eve at our house, then headed to my parents.  The kids worked with their new tools for several days on a present for Grandma and Grandpa.  They did it all by themselves and were very excited.

It was a hand carved nativity!!!
Grandma joined us for dinner.  She brought her divinity- so yummy!
We shared a nice meal together then acted out the nativity again.
Adele was the inn keeper this time but she still wanted to have a baby.  Of course she got what she wanted.

Then it was time for dessert.  Tyler decided he was done waiting for me to make the first move as far as feeding Titus goes.  He put a big glob of whip cream on his finger and was about to stick it in Titus's mouth.  There was no stopping him so I grabbed the camera.  He hasn't eaten solids again yet but he seemed to like them so maybe we will try some rice cereal one of these days.
When we got home the kids opened new jammies.  We watched a nativity video, read stories, talked about what things we could do that Jesus would like since we are celebrating his birth (Garret said "be nice and happy and less selfish", Spencer said "help people be good and not smoke", Adele "said I gonna do that too", Tyler said "work on the small and simple things", I said "try and be less judgemental and show love for everyone".)  Then it was off to bed.  Adele and Titus went to their beds.  The boys we decided were old enough to have a sleepover in the toy room.
Earlier we had put the monitor in the room so we could make sure they were really asleep.  Tyler and I had a blast listening to them.  Spencer kept saying "this is the best night ever, dont' you think this is the best night ever?"  They played Lego's and checked out the window over and over.  Finally at 9:30 Tyler went in and said "you might want to go to sleep because I hear Santa doesn't come if you are awake".  About 2 minutes later I went up to find them fast asleep.
